Thanks for your interest!

We have all age ranges from 8 to adults participating in the Maple Ridge Amateur Boxing Club, both men and women. Registration is open throughout most of the year - anytime is a great time to join!

***Please note we are closed on Statutory holidays. We also take a couple weeks off during the Christmas holiday season and the month of August off***

We are open Monday, Tuesday, Thursday and Friday 7-9pm at the Maple Ridge Leisure Centre, 2 doors east of the main swimming pool entrance.

  • Monthly fee is $60/mo.

  • You may attend class as often or as little as you'd like.

  • Every January, or when you first join, an annual registration fee is payable once every calendar year of $40 for recreational boxing or $100 for competitive boxing.

  • Recreational means no-contact (non-sparring with other people).

  • Competitive is for those who would like to spar with others in the ring and requires a medical certificate from your doctor.

  • We offer family rates - family of 2 is $100/mo, family of 3 is $140/mo.

  • Fees are paid monthly via cash or cheque.

  • We also accept funding applications for subsidizing youth wanting to engage in physical health and wellness (such as Kidsport and others).

We provide all equipment, except for wraps (not required at first), which cost $5 / pair (available at sporting good stores). As boxers improve their skill sets, many like to purchase their own gloves, but we have many at the club for member use.

Our 2 hour class consists of cardio, strength, and core training for the first hour, while the second hour comprises technical boxing skills (shadow boxing, punching bags, speed bags, etc). Whether you're wanting to get back into shape, are looking for a new challenge, a beginner or experienced boxer, it's a great workout in a safe, respectful, motivating and friendly environment. Our volunteer coaches all used to competitively box with this club over two decades ago, and now give back to the community what they once received when they were athletes. Our club attracts athletes throughout the Lower Mainland, with some of our boxers travelling over an hour one-way just to attend training.

Come try out a free class and see how you like it! You'll need to fill out a waiver form prior to starting the class and will need your care card number. Please wear comfortable and appropriate exercise clothes, runners, bring a water bottle and a towel for the sweat you will work up! No need to notify us that you’re coming to try out a class - just show up 10 minutes prior to class start and we’ll set you up.

Hope to see you at the club!
